Hot Rod, Founded in 1948, I have a mostly complete collection from 1951 to 1963 (4 issues partially mice eaten are included in the count but not charged for). Additional random years up to and into the 2000s totaling 234 issues. This was a tough one to let go... but (SOLD).
Car Craft, originally published as “Honk” in 1953. One of the quintessential small car magazines, the first seven issues were titled Honk. In December of 1953 the name was changed to Car Craft and its run as a small continued until June of 1959. An rare time capsule “view” into the custom automotive culture of the 50s, full of styling tips, methods and commentary. The full set of 74 issues in gently read condition is available at $222 (thats only $3 per copy!).
1950s period correct crate engine ready for your 50s hot rod build OR museum display. 1952 Cadillac fully rebuilt by Richard Lewis of Litiz, PA. The engine features include 1954 Cadillac heads, NOS Iskenderian 5-1 rockers, NOS Harmon & Collins roller cam, period correct Packard wiring and Vertex magneto. NOS Offenhauser ribbed valve covers (available as an $$ option original Hildebrandt valve covers). Moon valley cover. Set up for standard transmission (Cad LaSalle) of which there are two to choose from (one long tail and the other set up for Ford chassis). Comes complete with paperwork documenting build details and run in procedure. Additional items include NOS Offenhauser 2x2 intake and two Cadillac Carburetors (no air cleaners), and period rat rod headers as well as original Cadillac exhaust manifolds. SOLD.
